Presents the
24th Annual Driver DaysTM
Saturday, October 21, 2024 9am to 6pm
Sunday, October 22, 2024 11am to 5pm
To Whom It May Concern:We would like to invite you to participate in this year’s Driver Days Parade. You may already be familiar with this annual event in this small village, but if you are not, this is a spectacular family-oriented event that has basically put the small Town of Driver “on the map”. The Saturday events start with a wonderful parade that in the past has included antique show cars, various motorcycle groups, marching bands, various dance studios, and various organizations throughout Hampton Roads. Also included in this wonderful celebratory weekend is a Children’s Fair, Monster Truck rides, live music, fabulous food, crafters, an antique car show on Saturday, and a memorial bike show on Sunday, just to mention a few. All proceeds for this event are contributed to the Driver Volunteer Fire Department Suffolk Humane Society and other local charities.. It would be a privilege to have you participate in this event. There is no fee to enter this parade, but a monetary donation to support the cause would be welcomed. We have included an application for you to reserve your spot. If you need any further information, please contact Steven Wright at 435-5399.We are looking forward to the best Driver Days ever and hope to see you there.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR LINING UP IN PARADE
The parade will line up on Kings Highway between Bennett’s Pasture Road and Sleep Hole road at 9:00 am. It is MANDATORY that you come down Sleepy Hole Road and turn onto Kings Highway to line up in this parade. If you have turned onto Sleepy Hole Road from Bennett’s Pasture Road, you will be making a left onto Kings Highway. If you have turned onto Sleepy Hole Road from Nansemond Parkway, you will be making a right onto Kings Highway. Once you have turned on to Kings Highway, please travel very slowly until you see the participants. Please leave approximately 50 feet between yourself and the participant in front of you. We would sincerely appreciate your application no later than Monday, October 10, 2024; however, exceptions can be made. The goal is to have all walking groups in the front of the parade, followed by all motorized vehicles, which will be lined up in the order you arrive. If you have a specific group you would like to follow, please come to the line up together. The final line-up will be given to the commentator at 9:40 a.m. Saturday morning. If you arrive later than 9:40, you will be placed in the back of the line for safety reasons. Safety is of the utmost importance when lining up this parade. Thank you very much for your cooperation and understanding. We are looking forward to the best Driver Days ever and hope to see you there.
Sincerely,
The Driver Merchant Association
